Medical Training "Procedures and principles of tactical care for the casualty in combat conditions" – MODULE V

On 15.06.2024 and 16.06.2024 in Dołhe (Ukraine) as a part of the project "Support for Ukraine Mountain Rescues" a Medical Training "Procedures and principles of tactical care for the casualty in combat conditions" – MODULE V ""Evacuation of the casualty from the battlefield"  will be conducted. It is planned that in Medical Training 20 members of the NGO Mountains Guides Association “Rovin” acting as Mountain Rescuers and having the status of a member of the Ukrainian army will take part. Medical Training including 20 hours of classes will be conducted by 2 experts from Poland. For participants board and accommodation will be provided.

Medical Training programme:
15.06.2024 08:00-18:00
a) calling of medical evacuation means "9-line medevac request / MIST" - 3h
b) evacuation of the assault group operator wounded at the entrance to the room - 1h
c) evacuation of a combat group operator injured after crossing the doorway - 1h
d) evacuation of a wounded operator from inside the room away from the assault group - 1 h
e) planning the evacuation of the wounded in the vehicle left on the battlefield - 2 h
f) evacuation of the injured from the vehicle in the case of an immobilized car - 1 h
g) evacuation of the wounded from the vehicle using cover fire - 1 hour
16.06.2024 08:00-18:00
h) evacuation of the wounded operator to the tactical support vehicle - 2h
i) transfer of the patient - SIT report - 3h
j) exercises - incident simulations - 5h

On 18.05.2024 and 19.05.2024 in Dołhe (Ukraine) as a part of the project "Support for Ukraine Mountain Rescues" a Medical Training "Procedures and principles of tactical care for the casualty in combat conditions" – MODULE IV "Traumatic examination with assessment of vital signs" will be conducted. It is planned that in Medical Training 20 members of the NGO Mountains Guides Association “Rovin” acting as Mountain Rescuers and having the status of a member of the Ukrainian army will take part. Medical Training including 20 hours of classes will be conducted by 2 experts from Poland. For participants board and accommodation will be provided.

c) TRIAGE - medical triage - 3h
d) immobilization of fractures: improvised splints, Sam-Splint splints – 1h

f) monitoring the victim - re-assessment loop - 2h
g) stabilization of injuries - 2 h
h) treatment of burns - 2h
i)securing the casualty in battlefield conditions - 3h

On 20.04.2024 and 21.04.2024 in Dołhe (Ukraine) as a part of the project "Support for Ukraine Mountain Rescues" a Medical Training "Procedures and principles of tactical care for the casualty in combat conditions" – MODULE III "Chest wounds, clearing the airway, tension pneumothorax" will be conducted. It is planned that in Medical Training 20 members of the NGO Mountains Guides Association “Rovin” acting as Mountain Rescuers and having the status of a member of the Ukrainian army will take part. Medical Training including 20 hours of classes will be conducted by 2 experts from Czech Republic. For participants board and accommodation will be provided.

b) protection of breathing (occlusive dressings on the chest, decompression of pneumothorax) - 3h

d)circulation, AVPU level of consciousness, hypovolemic shock and its assessment - 2h

On 16.03.2024 and 17.03.2024 in Dołhe (Ukraine) as a part of the project "Support for Ukraine Mountain Rescues" a Medical Training "Procedures and principles of tactical care for the casualty in combat conditions" – MODULE II " Stopping the hemorrhage on the battlefield” will be conducted. It is planned that in Medical Training 20 members of the NGO Mountains Guides Association “Rovin” acting as Mountain Rescuers and having the status of a member of the Ukrainian army will take part. Medical Training including 20 hours of classes will be conducted by 2 experts from Slovakia. For participants board and accommodation will be provided.


Medical Training programme:

16.03.2024 08:00-18:00
a) stopping hemorrhage in conditions of external threat (battlefield, shelling - e.g. "active shooter", building fire, etc.) - 2h
b) stopping hemorrhage in a mass event (need to save more victims) - 2h
c) stopping hemorrhage in confined spaces, when there is no possibility to evacuate the victim - 2 h
d) "self-rescue" - when the victim has to stop the hemorrhage himself, in particular when it concerns one of the upper limbs - 2h
e)  hemorrhages that cannot be controlled with direct pressure, e.g. in the case of extensive crushing injuries, traumatic amputation - 2h

f) use of C.A.T. (Combat Application Tourniquet band), SOFTTW, self-help, putting on a band in conditions of limited visibility - 2h
g) methods of evacuating the victim from the car, turtle technique, fireman's grip, "BOA" grip - 3h
h) bleeding control (haemostatic agents, wound packing, pressure dressings) - 2h
i) stopping hemorrhages from hard-to-reach places (groin, armpit, use of CROC, JETT, AAJT, SAM Tourniquet bands) - 3h
