Project aims to equip 20 Mountain Rescuers from Ukraine with knowledge, skills and competences in the field of procedures and rules of
tactical care for the injured in combat conditions. Due to their basic medical knowledge they are especially needed at the front, acquired
knowledge will allow them to support front medical services in saving lives and health of soldiers and civilian victims of war.
In project a medical training entitled "Procedures and principles of tactical care for the casualty in combat conditions" for 20 Mountain Rescues from Ukraine will be provided. The training covering theory and practice will be carried out in Ukraine by experts from Poland,
Slovakia and Czechia. The training will consist of 5 modules (each module with 20 hours of classes)-Module I "Tactical assumptions and medical principles on the battlefield", Module II " Stopping the hemorrhage on the battlefield", Module III "Chest wounds, clearing the airway, tension pneumothorax", Module IV "Traumatic examination with assessment of vital signs", Module V "Evacuation of the casualty from the battlefield". Additionally 200 pieces of brochures related to the subject of procedures and rules of conduct of tactical care for the casualty in combat conditions will be distributed to min. 3 organizations associating a total of min. 200 Mountain Rescuers in Ukraine

MODULE I "Tactical assumptions and medical principles on the battlefield"
On 17.02.2024 and 18.02.2024 in Dołhe (Ukraine) as a part of the project "Support for Ukraine Mountain Rescues" a Medical Training "Procedures and principles of tactical care for the casualty in combat conditions" – MODULE I "Tactical assumptions and medical principles on the battlefield" was conducted. In Medical Training 20 members of the NGO Mountains Guides Association “Rovin” acting as Mountain Rescuers and having the status of a member of the Ukrainian army took part. Medical Training including 20 hours of classes was conducted by 2 experts from Poland. For participants board and accommodation was provided.

MODULE II " Stopping the hemorrhage on the battlefield”
On 16.03.2024 and 17.03.2024 in Dołhe (Ukraine) as a part of the project "Support for Ukraine Mountain Rescues" a Medical Training "Procedures and principles of tactical care for the casualty in combat conditions" – MODULE II " Stopping the hemorrhage on the battlefield” was conducted. In Medical Training 20 members of the NGO Mountains Guides Association “Rovin” acting as Mountain Rescuers and having the status of a member of the Ukrainian army took part. Medical Training including 20 hours of classes was conducted by 2 experts from Slovakia. For participants board and accommodation will be provided.

a) stopping hemorrhage in conditions of external threat (battlefield, shelling - e.g. "active shooter", building fire, etc.) - 2h
b) stopping hemorrhage in a mass event (need to save more victims) - 2h
c) stopping hemorrhage in confined spaces, when there is no possibility to evacuate the victim - 2 h
d) "self-rescue" - when the victim has to stop the hemorrhage himself, in particular when it concerns one of the upper limbs - 2h
e) hemorrhages that cannot be controlled with direct pressure, e.g. in the case of extensive crushing injuries, traumatic amputation - 2h

f) use of C.A.T. (Combat Application Tourniquet band), SOFTTW, self-help, putting on a band in conditions of limited visibility - 2h
g) methods of evacuating the victim from the car, turtle technique, fireman's grip, "BOA" grip - 3h

MODULE III "Chest wounds, clearing the airway, tension pneumothorax"
On 20.04.2024 and 21.04.2024 in Dołhe (Ukraine) as a part of the project "Support for Ukraine Mountain Rescues" a Medical Training "Procedures and principles of tactical care for the casualty in combat conditions" – MODULE III "Chest wounds, clearing the airway, tension pneumothorax" was conducted. In Medical Training 20 members of the NGO Mountains Guides Association “Rovin” acting as Mountain Rescuers and having the status of a member of the Ukrainian army took part. Due to the impossibility of the Czech experts to be physically present in Ukraine, the 20 hours training was conducted on-line using experts and an interpreter from Poland on place. For participants board and accommodation was provided.

On 18.05.2024 and 19.05.2024 in Dołhe (Ukraine) as a part of the project "Support for Ukraine Mountain Rescues" a Medical Training "Procedures and principles of tactical care for the casualty in combat conditions" – MODULE IV "Traumatic examination with assessment of vital signs" was conducted. In Medical Training 20 members of the NGO Mountains Guides Association “Rovin” acting as Mountain Rescuers and having the status of a member of the Ukrainian army took part. Medical Training including 20 hours of classes was conducted by 2 experts from Poland. For participants board and accommodation was provided.

On 15.06.2024 and 16.06.2024 in Dołhe (Ukraine) as a part of the project "Support for Ukraine Mountain Rescues" a Medical Training "Procedures and principles of tactical care for the casualty in combat conditions" – MODULE V ""Evacuation of the casualty from the battlefield" was conducted. In Medical Training 20 members of the NGO Mountains Guides Association “Rovin” acting as Mountain Rescuers and having the status of a member of the Ukrainian army took part. Medical Training including 20 hours of classes was conducted by 2 experts from Poland. For participants board and accommodation was provided.

e) planning the evacuation of the wounded in the vehicle left on the battlefield - 2 h
f) evacuation of the injured from the vehicle in the case of an immobilized car - 1 h
g) evacuation of the wounded from the vehicle using cover fire - 1 hour

BROCHURE "Procedures and principles of tactical care for the casualty in combat conditions"
As part of the project "Support for Ukraine Mountain Rescues" a brochure on the procedures and rules of conduct for tactical care of the casualty in combat conditions has been developed. The brochure include content from V MODULES of the completed medical training. The brochure is translated into Ukrainian language. Graphic design and printing of 200 brochures was provided, brochures will be distributed
among Ukrainian organizations associating Mountain Rescuers.
